ON AIR หรือ ON-AIR จะใช้คำใดในสถานการณ์การออกอากาศ
ช่วงนี้ เป็นอีกช่วงที่สถานศึกษาต้องหาวิธีการตั้งรับการจัดการศึกษาในสถานศึกษาของตนเอง ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการจัดการเรียนการสอนแบบ On-Site หรือ On-Air และ Online ซึ่ง mediathailand ได้กล่าวไปแล้ว สองคำคือ Online และ On-Site วันนี้มาลองปวดหัวกันอีกคำ หรือ สอง คำ ที่ผู้เขียนก็ค่อนข้าง งง เหมือนกัน ระหว่างคำว่า on air และ on-air ซึ่งหมายถึงการออกอากาศ ทั้งการออกอากาศรายกายวิทยุและรายการโทรทัศน์ ซึ่งจากการเผยแพร่ข่าวประชาสัมพันธ์การจัดการศึกษาผ่านช่องทาง on ต่างๆ ซึ่งในเนื้อข่าวหลายๆแหล่ง มีใช้กันทั้งสองแบบ(แต่ก็เน้นเฉพาะรายการโทรทัศน์) แล้วแบบใดถูกต้อง จากการค้นคว้ารูปประโยค พอจะพบเห็นคำว่า on the air และ on-air ส่วน on air พบน้อยมาก แต่หากไปที่สถานีวิทยุกระจายเสียง หรือสถานีโทรทัศน์ที่มีป้ายไฟแสดงสถานะการออกอากาศกลับพบว่า จะเขียนคำว่า ON AIR เป็นส่วนใหญ่ แต่ถ้าลองค้นหารูปประโยค www.merriam-webster.com ซึ่งเป็นเว็บไซต์ให้บริการคำศัพท์และความหมาย ก็ไม่สามารถระบุคำว่า on air ได้ นอกจากนี้เว็บไซต์ www.collinsdictionary.com เป็นอีกเว็บไซต์หนึ่งที่ไม่ได้กล่าวถึงคำว่า on air เลย แต่กลับยกตัวอย่างการใช้คำว่า on-air ในประโยคต่างๆ อาทิ

On air, sometimes on-air, can be used to convey the state of being currently broadcast, but also is often used for the potential to be broadcast, or the expectation of being broadcast. E.G.: John is on-air talent. (John can be expected to be broadcast.) Fred is on air right now. (Same as Fred is on the air.)
The slang phrase "on air" has been annoyingly extended further. News anchors will often say "on our air." For example, "He spoke last night on our air" or "on CNN's air." The standard for American usage of the English language, High American English, is only spoken in Cleveland, Ohio. Dialects spoken in other parts of the country contain all kinds of colloquialisms, such as "evidence for" instead of "evidence of" and just because they are in use doesn't mean they are proper. Thus "on the air" is the correct phrase.
